Sermon Text: Jeremiah 15:19-20
Jeremiah complains to God, “I sat alone” (because of his faithful preaching, and the people’s rejection of his preaching). Do you feel alone? Are you afraid to say it to God? He wants you to tell Him. To lament to God is an act of faith. More importantly, He wants you to be in His presence, where He can speak His Word to you and give His Supper to you, to show you in the most glorious way that you are not alone.
In fact, heaven stands behind you and with you. This gives you the strength to stand against the world and its vanities, against the devil and his lies, against the fear of death and the fear of being alone. The one who has God’s Word, and through the Word has the Triune God, all the angels and all the saints with him/her, is never alone.
