Preschool Power-Hour strengthens families with young children by offering them an affordable program rich in spiritual, intellectual, physical, creative, and social parent-child bonding activities.
Activities are geared toward children ages 2-5, and offer a unique learning experience for both the child and the caregiver (parent, grandparent, nanny, etc.)
The classes will be held on Thursday with two time-slots to choose from: Class A 9:00-10:00 am and Class B 10:45-11:45 am. The semester, which is a total of eight classes, is divided into two sessions: February 6th to February 27th, 2020 and April 16th to May 7th, 2020.
Each semester (two sessions) of Preschool Power-Hour is $50/per child (ages 2-5). Half semester (one session) is $30/per child (ages 2-5). A $5 discount will be applied to each additional sibling. Younger siblings are welcome to attend for free!
Following each Preschool Power-Hour class, caregivers are invited to attend a 30 minute “Power of Parenting” class. This class helps to equip parents with the tools they need to prepare their children for life and to study God’s Word for guidance in nurturing their faith. There is no cost to attend these classes and free child care is provided!
Rachel Kerkow, Karen Boriack, Jenny Zimmermann, and Audrey Beese are the lead volunteers for our Preschool Power-Hour program at Hope Lutheran.

” I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in the truth.” 3 John 4
Christian education is a passion of mine. I love being able to talk about the things of God with my family and friends, and Preschool Power-Hour will give me a chance to teach little ones and their caregivers about Jesus’ love for them! Even better still, Preschool Power-Hour will give families confidence in knowing they can talk about Jesus love with each other, anytime!
I grew up in Wisconsin, attending Winnebago Lutheran Academy for high school. After graduating from Bethany Lutheran College and traveling a year in Up With People, Brad and I were married in 1999 and have four children ages 18, 16, 14 and 11. We also have a high school student from China who has been living with us for four years. For over 20 years, children’s programs at church have been my life. I love energetic teaching styles and pour my heart into every minute of each class.
I know Preschool Power-Hour will be a great asset to the families in our community!

As a member of Hope Lutheran Church, I am blessed to be a part of this great outreach opportunity.
I am a native Texan. My husband and I met at St. Michael Lutheran Church in Houston and were married in 1975. I completed my undergraduate studies at Houston Baptist University, my graduate studies at Texas Woman’s University and two years post-graduate studies at the University of Texas – Medical Branch. I am a retired nurse practitioner and perpetual student. Learning, studying, reading, teaching and cooking in the kitchen with my husband are my favorite activities. You can often find me enrolled in a class or a continuing education program.
These words from the Bible bring me joy. Psalm 100:1-3.
“Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth.
Worship the LORD with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
Know that the LORD is God
Jenny Zimmermann
I am blessed to be part of Hope Lutheran Church and to have the opportunity to share the love of Jesus through Preschool Power-Hour.
I am from Michigan and moved to Texas in 1994 shortly after graduating from Michigan State University. Here I met my husband and now we have two teenage sons. I love the Lord, studying His Word, reading, traveling around to enjoy His beautiful creation, camping and spending time with my family.
One of my favorite verses is Ephesians 2:8-9
“For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.”
Audrey Beese
I feel very blessed to be a part of Preschool Power Hour at Hope Lutheran Church where I have been a member for 4 years.
I was born and raised in central Wisconsin on a dairy farm. I attended Martin Luther Academy in New Ulm, MN. My husband and I moved to Texas in 1979 where we raised 3 children. We were blessed with 9 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren with 2 more on the way.
Teaching children about their dear Savior Jesus has always been my greatest joy. I had a puppet ministry for a number of years and have found it to be a great tool to teach Bible stories to children.
One of my favorite Bible passages is Philippians 4:7 ” And the peace of God which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
